continue to grow: what that means to me
my first button simply said, “continue to grow.”
there wasn’t some big branding strategy behind it. it was just how i felt in that moment. something i needed to hear, something i wanted to carry with me, and maybe something someone else needed too.
i don’t think i realized then just how much those three little words would come to mean to me, or how closely they would become tied to the story of rose archive + co.
where it started
much like everyone, i’ve had my fair share of struggles. life has a funny way of piling things on, and eventually, for me, it got to a point where it all felt like too much. i couldn’t see a way out of the cycle i was in.
thankfully, i found solace in my family, my support team, and my community.
eventually, i realized i had a choice. i could continue on the path i was on and accept that this monotonous cycle was simply what life was going to be, or i could take a risk and do something i had never fathomed doing.
so, i took the risk.
finding my way back to myself
that’s where rose archive + co. was born.
not from a perfectly mapped-out business plan or some lifelong dream of owning a small business, but through a journey back into myself.
i started rediscovering the things i enjoyed doing. making things with my hands. working with flowers. creating little objects that could make someone smile, feel seen, or simply bring a little more color into their day.
i learned more about what i could do for others, but i also learned more about what i could do for myself.
little by little, i began building a space where i could create freely, connect with my community, try new things, make mistakes, change my mind, and live a little more authentically.
growth doesn’t have to look like anything
i think we’re often taught to look at growth as a destination.
you’re supposed to know where you’re going. have a five-year plan. reach the milestone. become the person you imagined you would be. check something off the list and move on to the next thing.
but i never believed that.
growth can be messy. it can be uncomfortable. sometimes it’s exciting, and sometimes it’s realizing something doesn’t fit you anymore.
sometimes growth looks like doing something completely new.
sometimes it looks like returning to something you used to love.
there doesn’t have to be a specific destination.
there is no right way to do it.
continuing to grow 🌱
rose archive + co. has grown since i made that first button, and so have i.
i’m sure both of us will keep changing.
and i think that’s kind of the point.
“continue to grow” isn’t about becoming the best version of yourself or constantly trying to turn yourself into something better.
for me, it means continuing to choose yourself as much as you can.
it means giving yourself permission to change.
it means accepting that none of us really have this figured out. this is a human experience that we’re all experiencing together, in our own strange little ways.
you don’t have to know exactly where you’re going.
you just have to keep giving yourself the chance to find out.
and all you can really do is...
